Live Your Story, Explore Your World

Authentic

Everyone seems to be searching for an “authentic” experience, in fact, Generation Y is all about authenticity.  A chance for something to happen to them, for a story to be made, for a pivotal moment that shifts their paradigm.  We as humans are happiest when we are living congruently and consciously, though this is an uncommon state.  There is a great disconnect happening within people that is keeping them from having an enjoyable, authentic, passionate life.  This disconnect is caused by societal pressures, stress, and subluxations that overwhelm your body into a state of defensive adaptation where it survives on a sub-conscious level.

Living consciously is bringing awareness to everything in your life (actions, values, purposes, goals) and being fully present in each moment.  It requires you to create a purpose by intelligent design, and to pursue it regardless of pleasure or pain.  This is where the authentic experience occurs.

Living congruently means your actions line up with your belief systems and values, and that you do not contradict your beliefs with your actions.  By living consciously, you can seek out contradictions and become more congruent.  The more congruent you are, the more authentic your life becomes.

The enemies of authenticity lie in subconscious conformity, lifestyle stress, and subluxations.  The pressure to conform must be met with rational thought, lest it compromise your beliefs and values, creating more contradiction in your life (do not auction off your values for short term gain).  Lifestyle stress can be overwhelming, even paralyzing, without a sense of purpose and the ability to live consciously.  Stress pushes your body into “survival mode” where you operate on a sub-conscious level.  It also produces a state of subluxation adaptation.

Subluxation adaptation is the disconnect in the mind-body experience.  It is interference in your nervous system.  The nervous system is how you perceive your world through touch, sight, smell, sound, and taste.  If there is interference in your nervous system, your perception, interpretation, and reaction to the world is distorted.  You are living sub-consciously and having a sub-human experience.  How  then, can anything be authentic?  How can your senses be trusted?  It is by addressing subluxation adaptation and reconnecting the mind-body to be without interference that one can have an authentic experience.  This is the noble calling of the chiropractor.  Then, by living consciously and congruently, you can make it an authentic life.
